The purpose of the St. Olaf Linguistics Society is to foster an increased interest in and understanding of the field of linguistics amongst the student body; to expand the opportunities for studying and engaging in the field of linguistics at St. Olaf College; to encourage an examination of the cross-disciplinary nature of the field and foster linguistics-related discussions across the curriculum; to facilitate linguistics-related conversations between students and faculty; and to encourage the pursuit of careers in linguistics.
