Stav Hall open for feedback
Contributing Writer Friday, September 29, 2000 Always the subject of much discussion and debate, Stav Hall (a.k.a "The Caf") is prepared for a new school year. And with every new school year comes new and improved ideas. Many of these improvements are the results of student feedback. One example of this is the tater tot hot dish, a Minnesota favorite. Every food station in Stav Hall carries a different idea everyday. The Mediterranean or "veggie" station is more popular than ever. "People seem to be trying different things," noted Marietta Lamarr-Buck, general manager of Bon Appetit. In addition to being a valuable source of feedback, student involvement is very important to Stav Hall. One way students can get involved is to be employed in the cafeteria. Another way in which students are able to get involved is through the SGAÕs food committee. They assist in gathering ideas about what students want, develop propositions on ways to improve past ideas, and generate constructive criticism. Stav Hall is also trying to boost student involvement by decorating the cafeteria with thematic replicas of a region or culture. Last week, western dŽcor was used in conjunction with western food choices. On Sunday, There will be a jazz brunch served after the Homecoming Parade. "The goal of Stav Hall and Bon Appetit is to be a restaurant-style food service, rather than a regular food service," said Lamarr-Buck. And, like any restaurant, there is always room for improvement. Whatever input students offer is positive input. If you are dissatisfied with something or you have a suggestion concerning the cafeteria, do not hesitate to stop an employee or chef to share your opinions with. |
