I am writing to express my extreme confusion and distress upon reading the latest edition of the Manitou Messenger. I was shocked and repulsed to read the (presumed) advertisement on p.14, sponsored by the Committee for Open Debate on the Holocaust, and am curious about the procedures and policies regarding the placement of advertisements in the paper.

I do not presume that I will always agree with everything printed in any paper, and even feel that I should in fact often disagree, if the paper is successfully reporting on today's current events, commentaries and opinions. But to read something like this, something I consider to be hate propaganda, in a paper such as the Manitou Messenger is strange at best.

Just let it be known that I am deeply offended by the ad's content, and would appreciate clarification on whether payment alone allows one to spew half-truths and hate in the pages of this newspaper. Then I will be at least more prepared when I read future ads from groups such as the Ku Klux Klan or Aryan Nation.
