Fireworks spark field inferno
The fireworks weren't the only thing causing the "oohs" and "ahhs" last Friday night. After the festive display, sparks from the fireworks landed in the prairie adjacent to Skoglund Athletic Center, causing the area to erupt in flames.

The college pulled out all the stops for President Thomforde's inauguration. The Reverend H George Anderson, presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, formally installed Thomforde. Festivities included fireworks and ice sculptures adorning the tables of the following outdoor reception.

May brings with it many associations for Americans. Younger citizens often think about the end of school, bringing with it graduations, open houses and parties. Others (mostly Minnesotans, of course) connote the month with spring finally finding permanence as it rapidly turns into summer. Still more think about correct posture.
