Extra Campus CommissionThis commission stresses the concern of the congregation's involvement outside of the St. Olaf campus. This includes relationships with other churches in Northfield and elsewhere, the ELCA and the worldwide issues of hunger, poverty, and human rights. The Extra-Campus Commission has, in the past, worked closely with the organizations Bread for the World and Amnesty International in letter writing campaigns. One of the congregation's noteworthy projects has been to assist in the creation and support of Ruth's House of Hope, a shelter for battered women and children in Faribault, MN. This commission also acts as a liaison to ELCA conferences from the congregation. Contact Molly Schaus (schausm) to get involved. |
