Club Officers

President - Ari Carlson

Ari '13 is from Holmes City, MN. She is in the process of applying to veterinary school and hopes to specialize in surgery particularly with exotic and/or zoological species. This summer she interned at the Minneosta Zoo and during the school year she volunteers at the Prairie's Edge Humane Society and works on an Equine Ranch. Ari is also the captain of the St. Olaf Volleyball team and is a member/public representative for the aquarium club. She is pictured here with a giraffe from the Nairobi Giraffe Centre in Kenya, Africa.

Vice President - Hannah Springer

Hannah '14 is from Bloomington, MN. She is currently an intern at Hopkins Pet Hospital in Hokins and Countryside Animal Hospital in Northfield. Over the summer, she spent time at the Minnesota State Fair assisting in surguries in the pet surgical suite. She plans on going to veterinary school directly after St. Olaf to study small animal or wildlife medicine. She is also interested in veterinary research. During her time at St. Olaf, Hannah is also a member of the St. Olaf Equestrian Club and the St. Olaf Women's Lacrosse team. She is pictured here with her English Setter, Sam.

Secretary- Tamara Roque

Tami '14 is from Hastings, Minnesota. She is currently taking care of a beautiful litter of Havanese puppies as a breeder's assistant. This summer she interned at the Minnesota Zoo in the animal health department, working with various exotic species. Tami is also the co-coordinator for the Humane Society volunteer club at St. Olaf. Tami hopes to become a general practioner for companion animals or wildlife/exotic species. She is pictured here with a male Havanese from a previous breeding that she assisted with. His name is Cheerio!

Treasurer/Historian/Webmaster/Founder- Marie Bak

Marie '14 is from Fort Collins, Colorado. She recently finished a rehabilitation internship at the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program and hopes to return next summer. She is also currently involved with the Larimer Humane Society as a Wildkind volunteer and the Front Range Exceptional Equestrians as a stable volunteer and horse leader. During the school year she is a veterinary intern and a kennel staff employee at Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic in Northfield. At St. Olaf, she is also a member and the vice president of the Canteroi choir, a JC for Hoyme Hall and a volunteer for Ole Spring Relief. She hopes to attend Colorado State University for veterinary school to study small animal medicine perhaps specializing in genetics or theriogenology. She is pictured here with her two adopted mixed breeds: Benny and Lucy.

PR Representative - Alexandra Ripperger

Alex '14 is a biology major from Cedarburg, Wisconsin. During the summer she works at a small animal and exotics clinic and also shadows at an equine hospital and the Milwaukee Zoo. She hopes to attend veterinary school in her home state at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Other than her duties as the PR representative with the Pre-Vet Club, Alex also enjoys writing sports stories for the Manitou Messenger. She has a particular passion for dogs and hopes to become a small animal veterinarian. She is pictured here with her favorite dog, her Wheaten Terrier, Jazz.

PR Representative - Geoffrey Gieni

Geoff '13 is from Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario, Canada. Geoff not only brings the testostorone
to our club but also volunteers at the Prairie's Edge Humane society in Norhfield. During
the summer he spends time at the Sault Sainte Marie Humane Society and works at the Sault
Animal Hospital Veterinary Clinic back home. Geoff is also a member of the St. Olaf Hockey Team.
In the future, he hopes to attend veterinary school to specialize in internal medicine or
surgery. He's very interested in exotic/wildlife rehabilitaion and conservation. He is pictured
