Tour of the Norwegian Web

Welcome to our tour of the Norwegian Department Web at St. Olaf College. If you are unfamiliar with using Netscape, you might want to read the short overview of Netscape Basics in the St. Olaf College documentation before you begin.

If you are using the electronic version of this tour, then you have already found the Norwegian Department home page as well as this exercise which is located under the What's New section of the page. You will need to use the Back and Forward buttons in the Netscape tool bar to navigate back and forth between the tour instructions and the various web pages. You can also choose Go from the menu at the top of the page, so you can go directly to any of the sites which you have recently accessed.

If you are using the printed version of this exercise, you can get to the Norwegian home page by selecting Open Location from the Netscape File menu and typing the URL: http://www.stolaf.edu/depts/norwegian

Or you can go to the St. Olaf College home page and click on:
St. Olaf Information, then Academic Departments, and then Norwegian.

  1. When you look at the Norwegian Department home page, the first thing you notice is most likely the Norwegian weather map. This map is updated every day and displays the current temperature (in Celcius), the weather conditions, and wind directions. Click on the map and go to the Norwegian weather site.

The capital city of Oslo is located in the southeastern part of Norway at the head of the Oslo fjord.
