Bill Carlson is Professor Emeritus of Economics and Former Department Chair of the Economics Department at St Olaf College, where he has taught for 31 years. His education includes engineering degrees from Michigan Technological University(BS) and Illinois Institute of Technology(MS) and a Phd in Quantitative Management from the University of Michigan. His research includes numerous studies related to highway safety, management problems, and statistical education. He has published three statistics textbooks. He has led numerous student groups to study in various foreign countries including most recently the Global Semester 2002-2003 . He enjoys grandchildren, woodworking, travel, reading, and being on assignment in northern Wisconsin He has completed the 6th edition of his statistics book and serving as Executive Director of the Cannon Valley Elder Collegium. He is available to give presentations and discussions on statistical education, international study, and economic back ground on various countries including India and China.
