The Mid-America American Studies Association (MAASA), a regional chapter of the American Studies Association, works for and with a wide variety of people who study the pluralistic cultural construction of the United States and who are engaged in the ongoing discussion about what comprises "America." As a regional group with an increasingly broad focus, MAASA's diverse membership interacts creatively to open new discourses on American life and culture.
