The Film Review Assignment

The second writing assignment will be writing a review about a film, concentrating on a moral issue the film raises. Your review will need to review the relevant aspects of the plot and then make some observation about the film based on its portrayal of the characters and their action, or on the real-life events that the film portrays. Your review should be between 500 and 1,000 words.

Working Draft

A working draft of your review is due in class on April 7. This means that 90% of the text should be there, with indications of what will be in the rest. It should be double-spaced, with 1.5 inch margins. Make sure your name is on it. I will assign your review to someone else in the class, and they will return it with comments by April 11. Save both your 1st draft and the comments. You will need to turn them in with the final draft. You will not receive a grade on your draft, but you will receive a grade for your review of someone else's draft.

Final version

The final draft of the film review is due in class on Friday, April 18. Soon, I will have available a grading rubric so you will know just what I am looking for.
