Hey, as is usual with me, the main goals are twofold -- have a little fun and learn a little stuff. And I'm dead serious about this!! If we don't accomplish both of these I won't be satisfied with the term and I imagine you won't be either.

With that in mind, though Multi is in the curriculum for a reason and that is to begin to show you the real power and scope of the ideas you learned in Calc 1 and 2. As cool as those courses are, they are limited by the fact that you're dealing with only one independent and one dependent variable. But in most real world apps there are many, sometimes infinitely many variables and in this course you'll begin to see how to use what you already know from Calc 1 and 2 and Linear Algebra to deal with a barrage of variables.

As with Calc 1 and 2, Multi is about derivatives and integrals and we'll want to get comfy with the multi versions of both. We have our work cut out for us, but I'm looking forward to getting it on. This will be fun!
