Study Guide Test 2
The examination covers materials from chapters 3-6 in the textbook by Dickinson and Leming and the books by Rubin and Hochchild. The examination has 2 formats: Objective and Essay.
Objective Test
- 58 True-False Items
- 42 multiple-choice Items
- 100 questions in all and you may throw out 10 questions.
- Here are two questions:

- Americans prefer boys over girls--especially for first-born children
- genetic differences related to gender are of primary importance in sexual identity
- parents expect boys and girls to behave differently
- women have lower mortality rates for all ages
Essay Test
- You must answer 25 objective questions (1/4 of the questions).
- You may throw out 5 objective questions making the objective section worth 20 points.
- There are 2 questions on the Hochchild book and you must answer one of them. The questions come from the discussion questions. (25 Points)
- There are 4 questions that come from the text (chapters 3-6). You must answer one of them. The questions come from the discussion questions. (25 Points)
- There are 4 questions that come from the Rubin book. You must answer one of them. The questions come from the discussion questions. (30 Points)
The test will be given at 9:05 and 10:45 in Ytterboe Hall. You may take as much time as you wish. You may take your examination at either time.
