19th Century Russian
Literature
This course is an introductory survey of the development of Russian
literature from it's medieval beginnings to the end of the nineteenth
century. We cover a wide variety of genres including sagas, the novel,
the short story, drama and lyric poetry. Major authors to be covered
include: Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Turgenev, Tolstoy, Lermontov, and
Gogol.
