Our Northfield House

These are some pictures of our new house in Northfield, MN. Click on the small images to see larger versions (175-300 KB each). The first four pictures were taken when we first saw the house in March, 2000.  The lower right picture was taken in February, 2001, 7 months after we moved in.  Clearly we brought the snow with us!!!

The house is about 100 years old but was moved 2 miles from its old farm site to this location within the last 30 years so the basement and foundation are new and in good shape. It has hardwood floors high ceilings (~ 9 ft) and nice woodwork on the first floor. The upstairs has 3 bedrooms with lower ceilings.

Downtown Northfield is along Division Street on the east side of the Cannon River. St. Olaf College is in the northwest corner of town about 2 miles from our house on the other side of the river. Carleton College is north of 1st Street about 8 block from our house. There is a park just 2 blocks east of us and a bike trail along the river.
