SAMPLE EMAIL RESPONSES
Although each student inquiry and alumni/parent response will be different, use the following sample response emails as a guide. Be sure to make your thank you notes warm and personal. Use them as an opportunity to ask further questions, discuss your qualifications, refine your interests, and/or see if they have any referrals or additional resources to provide. Offer or ask for supplemental information not previously given. Restate your appreciation.

I want to thank you very much for emailing me with information regarding my interest in ______. I enjoyed reading your response and learning more about what the field entails. My enthusiasm for this line of work has been strengthened as a result of the information you’ve provided.
I want to reiterate my strong interest in this line of work, and would appreciate it if you kept me in mind for any (job or internship) opportunities that might cross your desk. In addition, please let me know if you know of any other resources that might help me along this path.
