FAQ FOR ALUMNI & PARENTS
WHAT WILL I RECEIVE?
As a mentor, you will receive one email, per week, for the next seven weeks. The email will feature five student profiles, randomly chosen from the mix of students interested in your selected field(s).
WHO ARE THE STUDENTS?
Junior and Senior students were able to register for this program. All participants were required to attend an informational meeting and have their profile reviewed and edited by an alum or parent editor.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Please read through the profiles. If you have information, connections, advice, or comments for a student, please be in direct contact with him/her. His/her contact information will be listed in the profile.
WHY ARE THE PROFILES SO SHORT?
Students were allowed 500 characters for their profile statements (a lesson in brevity). So, to maximize content, students have written their profiles using sentence fragments.
You bet! A database of student profiles is available for mentors to review. To protect students' privacy, alumni and parents must login using their username and password in order to view. There is a "View All Students" link on the left-hand side-bar. Students are separated by career category.
I WOULD LIKE TO NARROW/BROADEN MY SELECTION OF STUDENT PROFILES
If you feel the student profiles arriving in your Inbox are too narrow or too broad, you can help refine what you receive. Alumni can simply sign back into the Career Network For Oles registration site and choose more or fewer categories to help meet your goal. Parents should contact the Alumni & Parent Relations Office with their request.
CAN MY FRIENDS/COLLEAGUES STILL SIGN UP?
No problem. Alumni can simply visit the Career Network For Oles site to sign-in. Parents should contact the Alumni & Parent Relations Office with their request.
CAN I CANCEL OUT OF THE PROGRAM?
Yes. Send an email and let us know. We'll take you out of the mix for the following week's email dispersal.
