Student entrepreneurs featured on KMSP-TV

June 13, 2013
JonnyPops, pictured here, are now available in 110 locations across the Midwest, including the Minnesota Zoo and Holiday gas stations. “These are not your normal fruit popsicles, and definitely not your average entrepreneurs,” begins a KMSP-TV news story highlighting the skyrocketing success of a frozen pops company started by four St. Olaf College students.


Student lands summer internship in London with renowned conductor

For many people, the phrase “music in England” brings to mind images of the Beatles, One Direction, or Elton John. When Tucker Moore ’15 hears the phrase, however, he thinks of one thing: opportunity. This summer Moore will travel to the United Kingdom for a once-in-a-lifetime internship with Simon Halsey, conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus, the London Symphony Chorus, and the Rundfunkchor Berlin (Berlin Radio Choir, which works closely with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra). 

Student receives Rotary Global Grant Scholarship

St. Olaf College student Lara Palmquist ’13 has received a Rotary Global Grant Scholarship that will enable her to pursue a graduate degree at Uppsala University in Sweden. The $30,000 award from Rotary International supports graduate-level studies related to the organization’s focus on humanitarian issues. Palmquist will enroll in a master’s program for peace studies and conflict resolution at Uppsala University in the fall of 2014.
