Student Feedback

  • This retreat has given me a new set of questions to ask myself and a new framework with which I'm very excited to explore what vocation means in my own life.
  • Pursuing what I am and love, not what I think other people want
  • More self-confidence about what I love doing, what I'm good at, and just myself in general. I am more aware of the choices I have and will make. Perhaps more importantly, to me at least, is that I now know I do not have to have a direct, clear path in mind in order to reach success.
  • Confidence, mainly. Confidence that I'm going to be successful and the opportunities available will benefit me.
  • Connections and relations with new people
  • I came away from this weekend understanding the importance of acknowledging that our journeys are seldom linear. With that understanding came a great sense of release and a renewed enthusiasm for simply doing what I love in a community that I love and not constantly worrying about the next step.
  • Really appreciated the time to step out of St. Olaf life, where it's a virtue to be busy, in order to reflect and think about vocation. Ended up being more thought provoking than I thought it might be going in, but some of those ideas had no time to settle before the next topic was introduced.
