Fine and Applied Art
Jacob K. Javits Fellowship Program (Department of Education)
Provides financial assistance to students who undertake graduate study leading to a doctoral degree or Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in fine and performing arts, humanities or social sciences. Fellowships can be offered to U.S. citizens who at the time of application have not yet completed their first full year of doctoral or MFA study or are entering graduate school for the first time in the next academic year.

* Peabody Essex Museum
The Peabody Essex Museum is an international museum of art, architecture and culture located in Salem, MA. One of the largest museums in New England, the Peabody Essex is home to 11 collections that number more than 400,000 objects, 3 million books, manuscripts and works of art on paper. Museum Educators are sought for both internships AND full-time, post-graduation jobs. Daily responsibilities include delivering up to four public or school programs per day in the peak tourist season. Most of the programs delivered by Educators focus on the museum's historic houses and include public tours, lectures on the witchcraft trials, period birthday parties, and theatrical productions. Post-graduation employees also take a role in supervising local youth who participate in career training at the museum and in exhibit interpretation. * American Symphony Orchestra Management Fellowship Program
The program provides promising management talent with a full year of on-the-job experience balanced with course work and leadership training. This is a one-year program in all facets of orchestra management. Candidates should have demonstrated musical knowledge, management skills, proven organizational and communication skills, maturity, confidence, and the ability to work independently as well as with diverse groups. Three years of experience with a performing arts organization and completion of Essentials of Orchestra Management are preferred, but not required. BMI Student Composer Awards
Awards for compositions submitted by students actively engaged in the study of music. * Chesterfield Fellowship–Writers Film Project
The Writers Film Project offers fiction, theatre, and film writers the opportunity to begin a career in screenwriting. Up to five writers will be chosen to participate, and each will receive a $20,000 stipend to cover his or her living expenses. The Writer's Film Project is one of the most popular and prestigious screenwriting fellowships in the United States. The WFP was originated by Chesterfield at Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment. Eligibility Requirements: There are no strict eligibility requirements for the Writer's Film Project. Fiction, theatre, and film writers may apply. There are no age or academic requirements, and applicants need not be affiliated with a university to participate. * Assistant Director Training Program
The program is designed to provide opportunities for a limited number of individuals to become Assistant Directors of motion pictures. This is a two year program consisting of up to 350 days of on-the job training combined with seminars and special assignments. A rotation system places trainees on the sets of various features, television series and commercials shooting primarily in the New York City vicinity. Must have certification of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college.

UCLA National Dance/Media Project Fellowship Workshop
An opportunity for accomplished professionals to work for a concentrated period on conceptual and practical issues regarding dance film/video. Fellows will work together in this ten-week session in a mutually supportive environment that challenges and expands their working methods. Fellows will receive travel reimbursement, and a stipend of $5,000 to cover living expenses. Limited funds will also be available for expenses related to the workshop projects. At the conclusion of the residency, fellows are eligible to apply for the Independent Project Development Funds administered by NIPAD.
