The Piper Center for Vocation and Career is hosting the 15th annual World Wide Service Fair to provide an opportunity for students to connect with volunteer/service organizations and advocacy opportunities.  Twenty service programs will be present at this year's World Wide Service Fair.

Citizen Schools

Since its founding in Boston in 1995, Citizen Schools has been re-imagining the learning day to bring more time, more talented adults, and more relevant learning experiences to middle-school students in low-income neighborhoods. 

College Possible
St. Paul, MN - Contact: Chad Karlsson
At College Possible, we believe a student's access to and success in higher education should not be dictated by economic circumstances. A college education puts a student and his or her family on a pathway out of poverty forever while providing our communities the workforce required to compete in a global economy.

Conservation Corps MN & IA
Saint Paul, MN - Contact: Mark van der Linden
The Conservation Corps provides meaningful work for young people in conserving energy, managing natural resources, responding to disasters and leading volunteers. We provide training in resource management, safety, job-readiness and technical skills, and we help young people develop personal responsibility, a strong work ethic and greater awareness of environmental stewardship.

Franciscan Community Volunteers

The Franciscan Community Volunteers program is a post-graduate, long-term volunteer Franciscan program for young adults, ages 21-30 who are looking for an authentic way to live an integrated life of faith and service in the world, modeled on the example of Saints Francis and Clare. FCV is an 11-month commitment of intentional community living dedicated to serving and advocating on behalf of the underserved.

Good Shepherd Volunteers

Good Shepherd Volunteers provides full-time volunteers with the opportunity to use their God-given talents to serve women, adolescents, and children affected by poverty, violence, and neglect. GSV has placements in the United States and internationally in a variety of fields: domestic violence, fair trade, economic justice, youth counseling, foster care, after-school programs, and education.

Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota AmeriCorps VISTA

Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota, Inc. (HFH-MN) is a statewide resource development and support organization that serves, advocates for and advances the work of Minnesota’s Habitat for Humanity affiliates who build simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with people in need.

HECUA

HECUA is an organization of 17 liberal arts colleges, universities and associations dedicated to education for social justice. Together we shape academically rigorous study-abroad and off-campus study programs that address the most pressing issues in our neighborhoods, nations, and world. HECUA programs are open to any enrolled undergraduate student from any school in the United States.

Interfaith Service to latin America (ISLA)

Our mission is to partner with communities in Latin America through health, education and construction programs. Our vision is to empower Jalapa, Nicaragua to become a more resourceful, hopeful and self-sustaining community, aided in part by ISLA's medical, education and construction programs.

Minnesota Alliance With Youth

The Minnesota Alliance With Youth is the leading convener, collaborator and capacity-builder for youth development in Minnesota. We work with and for youth to ensure that all young people have access to fundamental resources proven to ensure that youth succeed: the “Five Promises.” The Alliance is the Minnesota affiliate of the America’s Promise Alliance and is the statewide host-coordinator of the AmeriCorps Promise Fellows.

Minnesota Campus Compact

Minnesota Campus Compact supports civic engagement and democratic renewal through its diverse network of colleges and universities.  We envision a state in which every student experiences service-learning or civic engagement, graduating with a determination to contribute to the public good; and every college or university is fully engaged with its communities, working together to educate citizens, solve problems, and build a strong democracy.  Each member campus creates different programs and partnerships based on the distinctive priorities, cultures, and assets of the institution and surrounding communities.

Minnesota Literacy Council AmeriCorps VISTA Program

Our team serves Minnesotans of all ages — from 3-year-olds mastering their ABCs to grandparents determined to get their GED. We are able to reach nearly 90,000 children and adults each year thanks in great part to the more than 2,000 volunteers and 115 national service members we train annually. Our literacy-rich preschools and summer reading programs start Minnesota’s youngest readers off on the right foot. Free English, GED preparation and job-readiness classes prepare adults for post-secondary education and careers. Support in program best practices, educational technology, volunteer training and national service hosting strengthens hundreds of literacy programs across Minnesota.

Minnesota Pollution Control Agency / Minnesota GreenCorps

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) monitors environmental quality, offers technical and financial assistance, and enforces environmental regulations. The MPCA finds and cleans up spills or leaks that can affect our health and environment. Staff develop statewide policy, and support environmental education. The MPCA works with many partners — citizens, communities, businesses, all levels of government, environmental groups and educators — to prevent pollution and conserve resources.

Minnesota Reading Corps and Math Corps

In response to the educational crisis facing Minnesota schools, Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps will place 900 tutors next school year in schools across the state. Our tutors impact the academic performance of thousands of students every year. Become a tutor. Help students achieve success in school and in life, all while building valuable professional experience.

Project for Pride in Living

Project for Pride in Living, Inc. (PPL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering low-income people to become self-reliant through integrated services. Our mission: PPL works with lower-income individuals and families to achieve greater self-sufficiency through housing, employment training, support services, and education. PPL began as an affordable housing developer in 1972, and has since become a robust multi-service agency that today serves more than 14,000 low-income people annually. PPL has had significant organizational transformations throughout our 40 years. Response to community need is the root of these evolutions.

Public Allies Twin Cities

Public Allies' mission is to advance new leadership to strengthen communities, nonprofits and civic participation. Public Allies is changing the face and practice of leadership in communities across the country by demonstrating our conviction that everyone can lead, and that lasting social change results when citizens of all backgrounds step up, take responsibility and work together. We currently has 25 Allies placed at 17 external sites and 3 PUC neighborhood centers.

St Joseph Worker Program

The St. Joseph Worker Program is a one year volunteer experience for women who are passionate about social change. St. Joseph Workers (SJWs) commit to a year of service during which they delve into the core values of justice, leadership, spirituality, and living simply in an intentional community. Program sites in St Paul/Minneapolis-MNLos Angeles- CA,Wichita-KS and Albany-NY.

U.S. Peace Corps

Today's Peace Corps is more vital than ever, working in emerging and essential areas such as information technology and business development, and contributing to the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. Peace Corps Volunteers continue to help countless individuals who want to build a better life for themselves, their children, and their communities.

Urban Servant Corps

USC is a one-year, full-time Lutheran volunteer program located in the heart of Denver. Volunteers commit to living in community with each other, while serving at various local nonprofit organizations addressing basic human concerns of low-income and at-risk populations. USC positions are in programs that provide immediate and direct service, as well as programs that advocate for lasting solutions and long-term social change. Since 1987, USC volunteers have put their values into action. Whatever your passion, we have the placement for you!

Youth Encounter

Youth Encounter, a Christian non-profit organization, has been offering relational youth ministry resources to Christian communities for over 45 years. Rooted in the Christian Scriptures and shaped by the Lutheran tradition, Youth Encounter partners with Christian communities of all denominations throughout 30 countries. Annually, Youth Encounter facilitates over 200,000 encounters with Christ all over the world and shares the Gospel with over 15,000 youth through its event ministry, team ministry and service ministry.
