POSTINGS

Schedules for the league will be posted on the bulletin boards located right next to P E / Athletics Office in Skoglund.

 

1.        EQUIPMENT

A.      Team captains or representatives may inquire with Coach Arhar (x3409) about checking out wrestling shoes and gear.  Some equipment will be provided for training and the tournament, however it is suggested that your wear comfortable athletic wear.  Absolutely no shoes (unless they are wrestling shoes) on the wrestling mats.

 

2.        PLAYERS

A.      All participants must be current St. Olaf students (valid St. Olaf ID required).  St. Olaf varsity wrestlers are eligible for the tournament.

  1. Any participant that is bleeding must leave the match immediately.  The bleeding must be stopped and bandaged before the player can continue.  If there is blood on their clothing, it must be removed before resuming wrestling. 
  2. All players must attend at least one training session before the scheduled tournament.  Attendance at both sessions is strongly suggested.
  3. Wrestlers will be divided by sex (male/female) and by weight (probably 3-4 weight classes).

 

3.        The Match and Rules

A.      All NCAA wrestling rules will apply.

B.       You will wrestle for 3 - one (1) minute periods.

C.       Points will be awarded for take downs and escapes and a pin will mean the end of the match.

D.      The match can be stopped by coach Ahrar or the staff at anytime.

  1. You are allowed one (1) time-out per match of 30 sec. in length.
  2. Matches are played in the Skoglund Wrestling Room.
