INTRAMURAL SPORTS
BOCCE BALL RULES
POSTINGS: Results will be posted on the Intramural Sports bulletin board located next to the Phy Ed / Athletics office in Skoglund and on-line at the Intramural Web Page.
PRE-GAME: All Teams must sign in 5 minutes before the scheduled meeting time.
ID’S ARE REQUIRED.
EQUIPMENT: A set of bocce balls includes the pallino, a small white ball which players attempt to throw their balls close to. Each player must then have 2 balls. A game consists of up to 4 players.
STARTING/ENDING EACH FRAME: Choose a player to throw the pallino. This player throws the pallino, and then throws one of his/her balls, attempting to throw it as close to the pallino as possible. Players then take turns throwing their balls until all of the balls have been thrown. The player whose ball is closest to the pallino recieves points in accordance with the number of balls he/she has closer to the pallino than any other competitor.
CONTACT: Players may attempt to "knock out" their opponent by hitting one of their balls with one of their own. If a player's ball comes in contact with and moves the pallino, the pallino is left in its new location.
WINNING THE GAME :
The game continues with as many frames as needed until a player has reached 13 points. This player wins the game!
