COURSE DESCRIPTIONS FOR GENERAL EDUCATION 111 and RELIGION 121 As part of the St. Olaf general education curriculum, students are required to complete General Education 111 First Year Wrtiting and Religion 121 courses during their first year. Students will use the course submission process to make their section choices during July 17 - August 20, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. Detailed instructions for submitting your First Year Religion or Writing section choices are available in the following formats:

Students placed in the religion group will take Religon 121 in semester I and wait to take GE 111 until semester II. Students placed in the GE 111 group will take GE 111 in semester II and wait to take Religon 121 in semester II. |
Placement Exams are offered in French, German, Spanish, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Mathematics. New students should review this information to complete all applicable placement tests before arriving on campus for Week One orientation. Deadline date to complete online placement exams is August 15, 2009. |
