Many of you may have heard that some economic stimulus money is being geared toward creation of jobs and internships at the state level. If you are still looking for a summer opportunity, I strongly recommend checking out your home state's website for careers (e.g. for MN link), as well as specific agency websites. Don't forget to look at your own county websites! Additionally, USAJobs is an excellent resource for opportunities at the federal level.
(Note that not all federal gov't opportunities are located in D.C.! They exist throughout the U.S.!) If you have any questions about seeking an opportunity in government, stop by the CEL in the Modular Village anytime M-F, 9am to 5pm.

SERVE.GOV
On April 21, 2009, President Obama signed the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, a bold expansion of opportunities for all Americans to serve their communities and our country. During a time of almost unprecedented challenges it is critical that we all work together, the government alone cannot fix everything. Working together in a sustained, collaborative effort, we can harness our greatest resource, our people, and change the course of history. Serve.gov is a comprehensive clearinghouse of volunteer opportunities. Americans who are interested in volunteering can use this tool to locate opportunities to serve across the country and around the world.
