Job Humor
I thought a good thing for humor would be to find some Deep Thoughts about jobs by Jack Handy. Then I tried writing a dry, funny quip about how Jack is old, not a hip college student, and that he must not know about the current flashy job market, but then you guys would take me seriously and curse me for "poah-king fun" at him. I love Jack Handy, he's funnier than an office team-building trip. I also really want you guys to read one of his latest articles in The New Yorker about internships. I think it'll help with your search.
Jack Handy's Deep Thoughts on Jobs and Doing a Good Job or Something
- I wish I would have a real tragic love affair and get so bummed out that I'd just quit my job and become a bum for a few years, because I was thinking about doing that anyway.
- If you lose your job, your marriage, and your mind all in one week, try to lose your mind first, because then the other stuff won't matter that much.
- When you go in for a job interview, I think a good thing to ask is if they ever press charges.
- If you work on a lobster boat, sneaking up behind people and pinching them is probably a joke that gets old real fast.
- Probably the saddest thing you'll ever see is a mosquito sucking on a mummy. Forget it, little friend. |
