Health Careers Fair
October 5th ~ 3:30-6:30 p.m.
Are you interested in a health-related field? The Health Careers Center and the colleges of the Academic Health Center (AHC) at the University of Minnesota are co-hosting the Health Careers Fair on October 5, 2005. The fair will be held in the Coffman Union Great Hall at the University of Minnesota from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Fair will showcase various health career fields available through the AHC. Any interested students are invited to attend to find out about opportunities available and to provide assistance in planning for careers in health care.

Meet Your 2005-2006 Peer Advisors and Assistants
Jennifer Bush is a senior nursing major with a Biomedical Studies concentration from Edina, MN. She spent the summer interning as a surgical services nurse at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Jennifer's favorite St. Olaf memory is spending quality times with her honor house ladies.
Chrissie Chow is a senior Chemistry and Asian Studies double major from Downers Grove, Il. She spent her summer working at a charity. Chrissie's favorite St. Olaf memories are countless and cannot be pinpointed to just a few.
Rachel Erickson is a senior Political Science major with a concerntration in management studies from Cold Spring, Mn. She spent her summer interning at the Target Corporation doing merchandise planning.
Wudneh Gaga is a senior nursing major from Rochester, Mn. He spent the summer working at the Mayo Clinic in the nursing department. Wudneh's favorite memory will be graduation! Samantha Gruners is a senior Religion major from Madison, IN. She spent the summer working at her family gift store Whimsy and visiting graduate schools. Samantha's favorite St. Olaf memory was the surprise birthday party her friends threw for her sophomore yearshe had no idea!
Katy Gustafson is a senior Nursing and Psychology double major from Bloomington, MN. She spent the summer working as a student nurse at the Veteran's Medical Center, as well as a Recreational Leader at Edina KIDS Club. Katy's favorite St. Olaf memories have been spending time with her pod-mates and enjoying the weekends.
Jennifer Ho is a senior Economics and Studio Art double major with a concentration in Women's Studies. She spent the summer working as a camp counselor for the Science, Technology, and the Engineering Preview Summer Camp for girls at The University of St. Thomas. Jennifer's favorite St. Olaf memory was staying up late to watching shooting stars with her first-year and sophomore year roommate on the hill behind Hoyme.
Robin Karkowski-Schelar is a senior American Studies and Sociology double major with a concentration in Management Studies from Iowa City, IA. She spent the summer interning at Target Corporation for the Target Adoption Network. Robin's favorite St. Olaf memory was during her first week at school when she lost her keys and wallet. They miraculously showed up in her PO box untouchedIt's the little things that make this place great!
Andrew Miller is a sophomore Biology and Environmental Studies double major from Inver Grove Heights, MN. He spent the summer working at a community pool teaching swim lessons to little kids. Andrew's favorite St. Olaf memory was rolling down Old Main hill in the dark and getting lost at the bottom.
Christina Saari is a senior Psychology and Studio Art double major with a concentration in Media Studies from Little Falls, MN. She spent the entire summer planning her wedding. Christina's favorite St. Olaf memory was hanging out with friends at Arbstock.
Hoang Ton is a junior Math and Asian Studies double major from Richfield, MN. He spent the summer tutoring high school students in math as well as a working as a mentor/writing TA for the SSS Summer Bridge Program. Hoang's favorite St. Olaf memory was last interim when he had a chance to study off-campus at Washington University in Missouri.
Amy Wicks is a senior English major from Billings, MT. She spent the summer traveling through Europe and working at home while making some money. She also was a bridesmaid for her cousin's wedding. Amy's favorite St. Olaf memories were traveling to Cuba with Professor Buckstead for the Hemingway interim and playing mud soccer on Mellby lawn.
Michael Williamson is a senior History and Norwegian double major with a concentration in Environmental Studies. He spent the summer interning at the US Embassy in Oslo, Norway. Michael's favorite St. Olaf memories were the Black Eyed Peas and Ben Folds concerts. |
