Conduct Interviews On Campus
Organizations that can anticipate hiring needs in advance find it convenient to come to campus to conduct multiple initial screening interviews. Generally, employers with internship opportunities recruit sophomores and juniors (sometimes seniors), and organizations with full-time career positions interview senior students.
Fall Recruiting: Call during the summer months for interview dates that run from mid-October through mid-November.
Spring Recruiting: Call in December or January to set interview dates for interviews that run from the end of February through April.
Through OleRecruiting, employers are able to post positions, view applications, communicate selection decisions directly to students, and view interview schedules. If interested in scheduling an on-campus interview date(s), please contact Kirsten Cahoon at (507) 786-3843. Many employers also host hour-long information sessions on campus in advance of their on-campus recruiting date to provide students with personalized information about their opportunities. Please speak with Kirsten about this option when scheduling your on-campus interview date.
If you are unable to come to campus for interviews, we can also assist you with a formal “resume collection” to heighten the visibility of your posting.
Attend The Job And Internship Fair
Each year, St. Olaf College participates in the Minnesota Private Colleges Job and Internship Fair. Held in February at the Minneapolis Convention Center, this fair draws more than 1,000 students from private colleges all across the state of Minnesota. More than 150 St. Olaf students attend each year.
If you have internship or full-time opportunities appropriate for undergraduate students and you wish to purchase an exhibit booth, go to www.mnpcfair.org and click on "Employers" to complete a registration form.
Host A Table In Buntrock Commons
Bring staff, give-aways, literature, and job/internship descriptions to campus. Reserve a table outside of the “high traffic” student cafeteria by calling Andrea Kubinski at (507) 786-3268. Best months are October, November, February, and March.
Resume Books
St. Olaf College does not offer resume books (a collection of student resumes). Employers must post a position and solicit resumes through their posting.
