Collaboration Spotlight

Merrie Benasutti, Bethany Birkelo, and Diane Angell present a co-authored poster at meetings of the National Council on Science & the Environment in Washington, D.C. The poster focused on a civic engagement project conducted in Angell's biology course Environmental Health.
Course: Biology 228, Environmental Health
Instructor: Diane Angell
Experiential Learning Collaboration: Students researched a topic in environmental health relevant to our region and constructed an attractive, educational, and well-researched pamphlet on the topic. The pamphlets were distributed through River Bend Nature Center in Faribault.
Benefit to Students: Deeper understanding of course concepts.
Benefit to Community: Enhanced access to complex environmental health issues.
