ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE LIBERAL ARTS
Collaborative Opportunities
The Finstad Program is eager to collaborate with faculty on any initiatives that promote innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset on campus. The Finstad Program’s faculty are open to any and all suggestions. Below are examples of current collaborative efforts:
- Assistance in developing entrepreneurial content for courses
- Co-teaching or presenting innovation/creative concepts in classes
- Developing entrepreneurial ideas that faculty may have either personally or professionally
- Provide connections with local businesses and non-profits to be used as potential case studies
- Discipline related panels and speakers
Tell-A-Story Competition
The Finstad Program for Entrepreneurial Studies is asking faculty members to explore the intersection of entrepreneurship and liberal arts by sharing stories that illustrate entrepreneurial behavior in their liberal arts discipline.
Stories should either;
- Profile a specific liberal arts entrepreneur; discuss the nature of his/her innovation, project, or venture; describe how the entrepreneur created value (intellectual, artistic, social, economic, etc.); and outline the breadth of impact of the entrepreneur's work, or
- Describe how entrepreneurship has made a positive difference in their academic discipline and created value for society
There is a prize for stories that are accepted for publication in print or electronically. Please email your story to muirs@stolaf.edu.
