THE DAVID MINGE ENDOWMENT


David Minge graduated with honors from St. Olaf College in 1964, andearned his Juris doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School in 1967. David began his career as a lawyer in Montevideo, MN . Fifteen years later he was elected to the United States House of Representatives from Minnesota's Second Congressional District. As a congressman, David served on the Agriculture Committee, Budget Committee, Joint Economic Committee and the Science Committee. He is co-founder and past member of the Clean Up the River Environment board as well as co-founder and past chair of the Agricultural Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association. David completed his term as congressman in 2001, and currently serves as a judge in the Minnesota Court of Appeals. In addition, he is a scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C., a fellow in the W.W. Kellogg Foundation Food and Society Policy Program and a lecturer at the University of Minnesota, Morris.

David Minge was born in Clarkfield, MN and lives in Montevideo with his wife, Karen. They have two sons, Erik and Olaf, and four grandchildren.
