The Leaders for Social Change program is an opportunity to put your ideals into action and to develop leadership skills necessary to understand the complexities of social problems, formulate solutions and mobilize others for social change. Click here to download the program description.

Application Process
The application process for summer 2008 is closed.
Applications will be made available at the Information Sessions or by special appointment with Program Directors, Nate Jacobi (x3268) or Kris Estenson (x3625).
Completed applications must be delivered to Kris Estenson at the Center for Experiential Learning by 5:00PM on March 3rd. Forms may also be submitted electronically to estensok@stolaf.edu.
A selection committee will evaluate the applications and arrange for individual interviews. The interviews will take place during the weeks of March 5-11.
Five to eight students will be selected to participate in the program. All students will be notified of the committee’s decision by March 12.

Key components of the program
Nonprofit Internship
Gain valuable experience working 35 hours per week at a Northfield-area nonprofit organization.
Community Living
Live in community with 4-7 other students in a spirit of support and mutuality. Share in weekly community meals and reflection meetings.
Civic Engagement Seminars
Learn about community issues and social change strategies as part of weekly seminars with community leaders and St. Olaf faculty.
Compensation & Benefits
• $2000 stipend
• Room (at an Honors House)
• Grocery stipend ($200/participant)
• Tuition scholarship for a 0.5 credit internship
