Break Out of the Bubble (BOB) is an annual event put on by the CEL's Civic Engagement program. At the event, you will have an opportunity to participate in student-led break out sessions focusing on a variety of issues such as Public Health, Environmental Sustainability, Poverty and Affordable Housing, Education and Youth, Local Food, Organizing & Community Development, Gender & Sexuality Issues, and International Human Rights.

The main goals for the event are:

  1. Inform students about all the different ways they can become involved, including through student groups, community organizations, internships, academic civic engagement courses and volunteer opportunities.
  2. Provide a space for student leaders to share their experiences.
  3. Facilitate networking between students with lots of experience and students who want to become more involved in a specific area of interest.
  4. Help students generate new ideas about what could be done on campus and in the community to address the issues, in addition to reflecting on student involvement with these issues.
Everyone is welcome, so feel free to invite your friends as well! There will also be delicious pizza to eat - so come hungry!
