INTERNSHIPS FOR STUDENTS

Entrepreneurial internships help students across all disciplines apply their liberal arts education to real-life practices in the business and/or social sectors. Students have the opportunity to work directly with leaders from for-profit or non-profit organizations to gain valuable knowledge & experience in understanding the concepts of entrepreneurial opportunity, sustainability and value creation.

Johnson Social Innovation Internship Program

The Johnson Social Innovation Internship program, founded by Mark and Laura Estenson Johnson ’82, is modeled after the successful Wallace J. Estenson Entrepreneurial Internship program, also created by the Johnsons in 1996.  Two St Olaf students will have the opportunity to design and develop innovative and resourceful approaches to addressing social problems in the Twin Cities area.  The Johnson Social Innovators will be immersed in real-life problems within the social sector.  Students will propose a socially innovative plan that can be implemented within an existing organization or may require a start-up venture of their own.  Mentoring and networking by experts within the field of social entrepreneurship and nonprofit management will be invaluable to the interns throughout their summer experience and beyond.

Estenson Internship Program

The Wallace J. Estenson Entrepreneurial Internship program, founded by Mark Johnson '82, is a unique program offered exclusively to St. Olaf students interested in experiencing the work environments of entrepreneurial companies, partaking in a structured learning experience designed to provide exposure to the theory and practice of being entrepreneurial.

Additional internships are posted throughout the academic year and are  advertised through OleRecruiting and will be coordinated with the internship program.
