LILLY GRADUATE FELLOWS PROGRAM
Procedure And Timeline For Applicants
Description
The Lilly Fellows Program will select 15 graduate students for each of three years beginning in fall 2008. Fellows will attend four conferences over three years, participate in a mentoring program, and engage readings and other resources provided by the LFP, as they become part of a network of scholars beyond the boundaries of their particular graduate programs.Lilly Graduate Fellows will develop a relationship with a mentor who is a senior scholar at a Lilly Fellows Program Network School (St. Olaf College is a network school).
Each fellow will receive a stipend of $3,000 for each of the three years of their participation in the program.

Eligibility
St. Olaf students entering a Ph.D., M.F.A., Th.D. or equivalent graduate programs in humanities and arts for fall 2009. Students may begin the St. Olaf application process before receiving final acceptance for a graduate program but must have the acceptance in hand by the time of final screening in spring 2009.Applicants may come from any undergraduate major.
While there is no minimum GPA, applicants must be able to demonstrate a record of notable academic performance and interest in an academic career.
Application Procedure
The application includes a 500-1000 word essay on your thoughts about teaching one day a church-related college or university. (Note: Should you receive one of the fellowships you are under no obligation to obtain your graduate degree or teach at a church-related institution.)An official transcript(s) from St. Olaf and any other institutions from which applicant has earned college credits.
Application must include two letters of recommendation from St. Olaf faculty members.
Timeline
October 1 Lilly Graduate Fellows Program announced.October 31 St. Olaf applications submitted.
November 21 St. Olaf candidates selected and nominations sent to LFP.
February 3 Deadline for nominated candidates to complete LFP application.
April 17-19 Finalists invited for interviews by LFP.
