Sales & Marketing Intern

In this position, you will work closely with the Creative Director to assist in development of Alive Arts Media's online storefront.

The position assists in the development & implementation phases of product design, inventory, distribution, and vendor coordination . Working closely with the Artist Director, Webmaster & Creative Director for gathering and coordinating of merchandise, our new storefront will offer original products, created by young women (ranging from artwork, to music, to miscellaneous craft/gift items). This position also includes collaboration with Graphic Design interns for brand consistency with development of Alive merchandise.

The position will gain knowledge & expertise on inventory management, pricing structures for a range of products, logistical understanding of online sales & promotions, and customer service.

This is a tremendous opportunity for an individual to gain experience in a fast-paced, hard working environment and have exposure to a wide array of entrepreneurial sales & marketing assignments.

Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Creative Director, this position will:

  • Coordinate merchandise distribution from point of sale through outbound shipment.
  • Create forms, posters, and other promotional marketing materials for use with online store
  • Develop pricing structure for new items & acquire contracts from artist/designer
  • Strategize rollout of online store and timing of item availability.
  • Attend meetings & events when requested

Evaluation Expectations
Intern will complete individual goal worksheet at the beginning of term, which will be used in conjunction with position description by supervisor throughout the semester. Intern will be evaluated on performance once a month in one-on-one meetings with supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelors degree, preferably in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Creative thinker & ability to demonstrate initiative
  • Responsible communication methods concerning phone & email
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of women's media issues

Compensation
This is an unpaid internship.
