2008 St. Olaf Swim Camps
Excellence has become a trademark of the St. Olaf Swim Camps in the 28 years that Bob and Dave Hauck have been directing the camps. Bob and Dave provide a learning environment that is exciting, fun, challenging and team oriented.
"Our goal is to provide each swimmer with the necessary tools to become the best swimmer he or she can be -- today, next week and in the years to come."
The Swim Camp Experience
St. Olaf Swim Camps -- Stroke Technique and High Performance -- are designed for swimmers who have been swimming competitively in associations or school programs. Both camps provide a complete experience on the beautiful St. Olaf campus in historic Northfield, Minn. Pool time and other training activities are balanced with recreational activities supervised by camp coaches and counselors.

Daily Activities
Each camp session includes two teams of swimmers grouped by age and ability. Three daily pool sessions, dry-land practice, group instruction and review of underwater videos make up the instructional portion of each day. Camp is definitely not all work and no play! Recreational activities, led by coaches and counselors, include softball games, a bonfire, a dance, movie night, pizza night and other less structured activities.

Room, Board and Roommates
Swimmers are housed two to a room and may request a roommate. Roommates should request each other and register at the same time. Some camp sessions fill very early and space cannot be held for a late-registering roommate. A few triple rooms are available. Please contact us about this option by e-mail at summer@stolaf.edu.
Campers dine in the award-winning Stav Hall where they enjoy tasty, healthful choices -- including salads, hamburgers, pizza, fresh fruit, hot entrees and, of course, the popular dessert station!
Safety First
Coaches and counselors live in the residence halls and provide 24-hour supervision of swimmers and their activities. The college also provides a security staff that operates 24/7 year-round.
Good Value
The summer swim camp fee includes lodging Sunday through Wednesday nights with bedding and a bath towel. The fee also includes meals from Sunday dinner through Thursday lunch, a low camper-to-coach ratio, a videotape of underwater swim strokes, an instructional booklet, a written stroke analysis, a swim camp T-shirt and a St. Olaf College swim cap.
