GENERAL INFORMATION
Educational Talent Search is one of six TRiO programs originally
funded under the Higher Education Act of 1965 whose objectives are
to help students ages 11-27 overcome class, social, and cultural
barriers to higher education.

- The Council for Opportunity in Education is a non-profit organization dedicated to the expansion of educational opportunities throughout the United States. The Council works in conjunction with colleges, universities and agencies that host TRiO programs to specifically help low-income and disabled Americans enter college and graduate.
- MN TRiO
is the professional organization for personnel affiliated with
TRiO programs throughout the state of Minnesota. MN TRiO is one
of eight state chapters which form the Mid-America
Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (MAEOPP).
In addition to Minnesota, MAEOPP's member states include Illinois,
Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and
Wisconsin.

THE LATEST NEWS:
This fall, the U.S. Department of Education awarded a new TRiO grant to St. Olaf College. Former ETS Director Janis Johnson will now be directing the TRiO McNair Scholars Program, which is is a graduate school preparation program designed to assist low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented college students with developing the skills and
motivation necessary to successfully pursue doctoral education and a career in the
professoriate.
