APPLYING FOR A FEDERAL DIRECT PARENT PLUS LOAN   

To apply for a Direct Parent PLUS Loan, the parent needs to complete these two steps:

Step One:

2011-2012 - Complete the 2011-2012 St. Olaf Federal Direct Parent PLUS Application/Credit Authorization Form and return it to the St. Olaf Financial Aid Office.

2012-2013 - Complete the 2012-2013 St. Olaf Federal Direct Parent PLUS Application/Credit Authorization Form and return it to the St. Olaf Financial Aid Office.

IF YOU PREVIOUSLY BORROWED A DIRECT PARENT PLUS LOAN FOR YOUR ST. OLAF STUDENT, ONLY STEP ONE IS REQUIRED

Step Two: Complete a Direct Parent PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN)

  • Select "Sign In" - you will need your Federal PIN Number to access this system. If you have forgotten your PIN, you can request that it be sent to you by visiting www.pin.ed.gov
  • Once you have entered the system, select "Complete a Master Promissory Note" then "Parent PLUS".
  • DO NOT select "Start PLUS Application," St. Olaf uses its own PLUS request form (see Step One).
