Student Loan Exit Interviews
STUDENT LOAN EXIT INTERVIEWS are now available on-line. We have included links (below) to the Stafford Loan exit interview and the Perkins Loan exit interview. It is strongly recommended for Federal Stafford Loan and SELF loan borrowers and is REQUIRED for Federal Perkins Loan borrowers before you can receive your diploma. If you're going on to graduate, medical, law or professional school, you will learn what steps you need to take to have your loans deferred as you continue your education, and you will learn how your undergraduate debt will affect the financing of your graduate education. If you plan to join the work force, you will need to know how to work with your lender to put off your payments until you begin working. In early March, you will receive a summary of your loan indebtedness via campus mail. Look over this loan indebtedness summary to ensure your records are accurate before you leave St. Olaf. The information you acquire by completing the loan exit interview will help you confront your fears about your student loan debt. We are confident that you will learn that it is manageable and affordable with the proper attention and planning. Last, by completing exit counseling, you will be registered for a chance to win fabulous prizes from local businesses, and a grand prize drawing for a $250 check to be applied to the principal balance of your most expensive student loan.
