Non-St. Olaf Scholarship Opportunities

A vast majority of scholarships at St. Olaf are need based and do not require an application process. But, occasionally the Office of Financial Aid receives information on outside scholarship opportunities. As outside scholarship opportunities become available we will post them at this site.

Affinity Plus Academic Scholarship:

The Affinity Plus Foundation was chartered to promote financial literacy and money management skills to people throughout Minnesota. Students that have an individual membership through Affinity Plus may be eligibe for one of five $5,000 scholarships. American Heart Association Scholarship:

This scholarship is for students working in a medically related curriculum. For application information, eligibility requirements, and additional information, visit the American Heart Association website. Deadline is March 30, 2012.

B.Davis Scholarship:

This scholarship is for any enrolled student and is awarded based on a written essay. For application information, eligibility requirements, and additional information, visit the Student Award Search Aid website. Deadline is May 28, 2012.

Business Bachelor's Degree Scholarship:

This scholarship is for students pursuing degrees related to Business Management, Information Systems Management, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Human Resource Management, and Entrepreneurship. Capstone Community Scholarship:

This scholarship is for students pursuing degrees related to Pre-school Education, Elementary/Primary Education, Library Science, English Language Learners, English, Publishing, Graphic Design or English as a Second Language. Communications and Journalism Bachelor's Degree Scholarship:

This scholarship is for students pursuing degrees related to Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business Communications, Advertising, and Broadcastin. Evelyn Lenander Scholarship:

This scholarship is for Juniors or Seniors that will be pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. For application information, eligibility requirements, and additional information, visit the Central Minnesota Community Foundation website. Deadline is May 15, 2012.

Families of Freedom Scholarship:

If you or members of your family have been impacted by the events of September 11, you may be eligible for a financial scholarship from the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund. Garden Club of America Scholarships:

This scholarship is for students pursuing degrees related to botany, ecology, wetland conservation, environmental studies. For application information, eligibility requirements, and additional information, visit the Garden Club of America website. Various deadlines.

Hawkinson Scholarship for Peace and Justice:

This scholarship is intended for students who demonstrate a commitment to peace and justice. For application information, eligibility requirements, and additional information, visit the Hawkinson Foundation website. Deadline is March 15 each year.

Hovland Scholarship:

This scholarship is available for students entering their junior year in the fall of 2012. Students must be from Norwegian descent, with preference given to applicants from the Bomlo Community of Norway. Health Care Career Scholarship:

This scholarship is available for students entering or continuing education in the healthcare field and residents from the following MN counties: Yellowstone, Big, Horn, Fergus, Golden Valley, Musselshell, Wheatland, Petroleum, Judith Basin, Sweet Grass, Stillwater, Custer, Treasure, Rosebud, and Carbon Counties. MinnesotaJobs.com Scholarship:

National Scholars Honor Society Scholarship:

The National Scholars Honor Society offers $19,000 in scholarships to students in the arts, sciences, business, medicine, law and politics. Scholarship eligibility is determined for each new applicant at the time of acceptance, and is reviewed biannually. For more information, visit the National Scholars Honor Society website.

North Suburban Communications Commission Scholarship:

This scholarship is available to students that reside in one of the following cities: Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Moundsview, New Brighton, North Oaks, Roseville, St. Anthony, or Shoreview. Students must be majoring in Mass Communications, Journalism, Television Production, Video Engineering or similar course of study. Rotary World Peace Scholarships

The Rotary Centers for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution offer individuals committed to peace and cooperation the opportunity to pursue a two-year master's level degree in international studies, peace studies, and conflict resolution at one of the seven Rotary Centers.

The scholarship will cover tuition and required fees, room and board, transportation, and contingency expenses such as books and supplies. Applications generally need to be completed approximately 18 months in advance of the planned study period.

Sell Used Books College Essay Contest:

This essay contest is available to any enrolled college student. Simply write a 300-500 word essay on the topic, "Why I derserve to win this scholarship." Social Sciences Bachelor's Degree Scholarship:

This scholarship is for students pursuing degrees related to Political Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Economics and History. For application information, eligibility requirements, and additional information, visit the Degree Directory website. Deadline is April 1st of each year.

SMART Scholarship:

This scholarship is an opportunity for students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics disciplines to receive a full scholarship and be gainfully employed upon degree completion. U.S. Bank Scholarship Program:
