Children 19 and Older
If your child is graduating from High School and continues with schooling:
Children continuing onto an accredited college, university or trade school on a full time basis remain as a benefit eligible dependent to age 25.
If your child is age 19 or older and ceases to be a full time student:
Health Plan (Medical/Dental) - If you are currently on the St. Olaf Family Plan: Your child loses eligibility as a dependent for health and dental insurance on the last day of the month in which he/she graduates. Your child may continue group coverage under state and federal continuation provisions, referred to as COBRA. Contact HR within 60 days of this event so we may notify them of their right to continuation.
Dependent Life Insurance (Spouse/Child) - Your child ceases to be an eligible dependent effective on the date he/she ceases to be a full-time student.
If your child ceases to be a full time student for 2 consecutive academic terms:
If your child has not graduated or completed a defined course of study, they may miss one (1) academic term and remain benefit eligible. If they do not return to school on a full time basis immediately following the missed academic term dependent eligibility will cease at the end of the last month of the missed academic term.
Fall Academic Term: September - December
Spring Academic Term: January - May

Other changes to consider:
Update Dependents - If you are a participant in the Emeriti Health Account, call the Emeriti Service Center at 1-866-363-7484.
Tax (W-4) - Adjust W-4 to make changes to number of tax allowances if desired. Must complete W-4 form and submit to Payroll (Click here for form).
