Overall responsibility for the functions of the department.

Primary responsibility for the management of the college benefit programs. These include health, life, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, medical and dependent care reimbursement accounts, basic and supplemental retirement accounts, employee assistance program and the tuition benefit.

Lead interface with legal counsel regarding employment law, wage and hour and employee relations and benefits.

Management of staffing process for exempt positions (does not include faculty positions).

Equal employment officer, Title IX officer and sexual harassment officer.

Consults and advises supervisors and managers on interviewing, supervision and discipline issues.

Manages regulatory compliance issues, including Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Parental Leave Act, Cobra continuation, medical and personal leaves.

Assists employees with issues related to retirement.
