Computer Repair Services Technician

Computer Repair Services Student Technicians are the group of people responsible for the majority of computer hardware troubleshooting and repairs. Experience in computers and hands-on repairs is preferred but not necessary. Experience with common St. Olaf software packages is also a plus.

Duties

  • Deliver, set up, and document equipment.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting for field repairs.
  • Repair and maintain computing related equipment.
  • Install, connect and test networked computer equipment.
  • Assist users with equipment and answer questions.
  • Learn Clientele.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • User knowledge of PC-compatibles, Macintoshes, and printers.
  • Basic knowledge of Macintosh and Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and communication software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and users.
  • Carry out instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift and carry 49 lbs.
