Please be sure to read all directions carefully before attempting to use the equipment. We strongly recommend that you attend a training session or request a tutorial well in advance of your class. To set up a tutorial or find out about training sessions, contact the IIT HelpDesk at Extension 3830. We also recommend that you take time to test out your materials prior to your class time.

Using the Audio Components
- Turn on power to rack: red ON/OFF switch at the very top right of the rack
- Turn on Sony receiver (top component) and press the input button that you will be using (Phono, MD/Tape, CD, Tuner). Sound will not work unless the receiver is on and the correct input is selected.
- Turn on the component(s) that you will be using (from top to bottom: tape deck, CD player, phonograph)
- If necessary, insert media (CD, video tape, audio tape) and press play. (For the phonograph, place the record on the turntable and then put the needle on the record.)
- Use the volume knob on the Sony receiver to adjust the volume
Projecting the VCR
- Turn on power to rack: red ON/OFF switch at the very top right of the rack
- Turn on Sony receiver (top component) and press the VIDEO input button. Sound will not work unless the receiver is on and the correct input is selected.
- Turn on the projector using the green power button on the remote (usually stored in drawer with the phonograph)
- Turn on the VCR, insert the tape, and press play
- Push the INPUT button on the remote until the video appears on the screen
- Use the volume knob on the Sony receiver to adjust the volume
Projecting a Laptop
- Turn on power to rack: red ON/OFF switch at the very top right of the rack
- Turn on Sony receiver (top component) and press the COMP input button. Sound will not work unless the receiver is on and the correct input is selected.
- Turn on the ELMO Document Camera on the cart (power switch in the back right corner)
- Use a standard DB-15 monitor cable to connect the back of the laptop (VIDEO OUT) to the back of the document camera (INPUT: RGB 1)
- Plug the Ethernet cable and audio cable on the cart into the laptop
- On the front of the document camera in the INPUT area, press the RGB 1 button (leave the OUTPUT set to MAIN)
- Turn on the laptop
- Turn on the projector using the green power button on the remote (usually stored in drawer with the phonograph)
- Push the INPUT button on the remote until the laptop desktop appears on the screen
Turning Off the System
- To turn off the system, eject or remove any media, turn off any components in use. (For the Mac, go to the Special menu and select Shut Down)
- Turn off the rack using the red power switch in the upper right corner
- To turn off the projector, push the green power button on the remote twice
- Return the remote to the phonograph drawer
