Projecting the VCR
- Turn on power to rack (black box on the floor underneath computer): red ON/OFF switch at the very top right of the rack
- Turn on the projector using the Display Power button on the wall.
- Turn on the VCR, insert the tape, and press play
- Push the VCR button on wall control panel.
Projecting the Computer or a DVD Movie
DVDs can be played using the Mac computer- Turn on power to rack: red ON/OFF switch at the very top right of the rack
- The Mac computer is the bottom-most component in the rack on
the left. Flip the power switch in the lower middle of the component.
- The Mac contains a DVD-ROM drive and can be used to play DVD movies. To do so, insert the DVD disc into the DVD-ROM drive.
- Double-click on the “Apple DVD Player” alias on the desktop. Click play on the round controller.
- Select “Hide Controller” from the Window menu and “Present Video on Screen” from the Video menu
- While a DVD is playing, wiggle the mouse to get the menus back so that you can use the Controls menu to Pause, Stop, Fast Forward, etc. a movie.
- When finished with the DVD, choose Exit from the File menu
- Turn on the projector using the On power button on the remote (usually stored in drawer with the keyboard)
- Push the Mac button on the control strip located at the top of the rack, this will display the selected computer on the screen.
- When finished with the computer:
- On the Mac go to the Special menu and select Shut Down
Using the Document Camera
- Turn on power to rack: red ON/OFF switch at the very top right of the rack
- Turn on the Document Camera on the cart (power switch in the front left corner)
- Turn on the projector using the green power button on the remote (usually stored in drawer with the keyboard)
- Push the INPUT button on the remote until the document camera glass appears on the screen (Input B), and select Doc Cam from the control switch located at the top of the cart
- Use the TELE and WIDE buttons on the document camera to zoom in or out on an object or text (for text to be legible, you will most likely need to zoom in; for best results, zoom in on an object until the surrounding white background is out of view)
- If an object or text is out of focus, push the AUTO FOCUS button
Projecting a Laptop
- Turn on power to rack: red ON/OFF switch at the very top right of the rack
- Use a standard DB-15 monitor cable to connect the back of the laptop (VIDEO OUT)
- Plug the Ethernet cable and audio cable on the cart into the laptop
- Turn on the laptop
- Turn on the projector using the power button on the remote (usually stored in drawer with the keyboard) and press the Input button until Input B appears in the upper right of the screen
- On the input control strip press the button labeled Laptop
Turning Off the System
- To turn off the system, eject or remove any media, turn off any components in use. (For the Mac, go to the Special menu and select Shut Down)
- Turn off the rack using the red power switch in the upper right corner
- To turn off the projector, push the green power button on the remote twice
- Return the remote to the keyboard drawer
