Please be sure to read all directions carefully before attempting to use the equipment. We strongly recommend that you attend a training session or request a tutorial well in advance of your class. To set up a tutorial or find out about training sessions, contact the IIT HelpDesk at Extension 3830. We also recommend that you take time to test out your materials prior to your class time.

Using the Audio Components
- Turn on power to rack: red ON/OFF switch at the very top right of the rack
- Turn on Sony receiver (bottom component) and press the input button that you will be using (VIDEO for the VCR and COMP for the Computer). Sound will not work unless the receiver is on and the correct input is selected.
- Turn on the component(s) that you will be using
- If necessary, insert media (CD, video tape) and press play.
- Use the volume knob on the Sony receiver to adjust the volume
Projecting the VCR
- Turn on power to rack: red ON/OFF switch at the very top right of the rack
- Turn on Sony receiver (bottom component) and press the VIDEO input button. Sound will not work unless the receiver is on and the correct input is selected.
- Turn on the projector using the On button on the remote (usually stored in drawer with the keyboard)
- Turn on the VCR, insert the tape, and press play
- Push the INPUT button on the remote until the video appears on the screen
- Use the volume knob on the Sony receiver to adjust the volume
Projecting the Computer
- Turn on power to rack: red ON/OFF switch at the very top right of the rack
- Turn on Sony receiver (bottom component) and press the COMP input button. Sound will not work unless the receiver is on and the correct input is selected.
- The PC computer is the middle component in the rack. Press the power button, located in the middle of the unit.
- Turn on the projector using the On power button on the remote (usually stored in drawer with the keyboard)
- Push the SWITCH button on the control strip located on top of the rack until the PC is selected, this will display the computer on the screen.
- Use the volume knob on the Sony receiver to adjust volume for the computer
- When finished with the computer click on start and select Shut Down
Using the ELMO Document Camera
- Turn on power to rack: red ON/OFF switch at the very top right of the rack
- Turn on the ELMO Document Camera on the cart (power switch in the back right corner)
- Turn on the projector using the On button on the remote (usually stored in drawer with the keyboard)
- On the input control panel located above the rack, press SWITCH button until DOC CAM is selected which will display the document camera on the screen
- Use the TELE and WIDE buttons on the document camera to zoom in or out on an object or text (for text to be legible, you will most likely need to zoom in; for best results, zoom in on an object until the surrounding white background is out of view)
- If an object or text is out of focus, push the AUTO FOCUS button
Turning Off the System
- To turn off the system, eject or remove any media, turn off any components in use. (For the PC, click on Start and select Shut down)
- Turn off the rack using the red power switch in the upper right corner
- To turn off the projector, push the OFF button on the remote TWICE
- Return the remote to the top of the rack
