Common Sense Reminders
- Do NOT adjust any item labeled "DO NOT TOUCH"
- When possible, insure the technology works before class time.
- When in doubt, ask.

1. Turning on the System
- Turn on the projector by pressing the green button on the remote.
- It will take up to 1 minute for the projector to warm up and display anything and may take a minute more to reach full brightness.
2.0 Using/displaying the components
2.1 Computer
- Turn on the system as described in the previous section.
- Turn on the Gateway computer located in the under the VCR/DVD player.
- Push the "Computer" button on the top panel of the rack to display the computer.
- Set the projector to "Input 1" to display the computer.
2.2 Playing an Audio CD
- Turn on the computer as described in the previous section.
- Adjust the volume using the volume control on the Sony panel in the rack by turning the Volume button to the desired volume.
- Insert an audio CD into the CD-Rom Drive (it should
automatically begin).
2.3 Using a Laptop Computer
- Turn on the system as described in the first section.
- Plug the attached video cable into the back of the laptop (video out) and to the laptop input on the back of the counter.
- Plug the attached audio cable into the back of the laptop (audio out) and to the audio input on the back of the counter.
- Turn on the laptop.
- Push the "LAPTOP" button on the rack.
2.4 DVD/VCR
- Turn on the system as described in the first section.
- Turn on the VCR in the rack.
- Push the "VCR" button on the rack.
- Insert the VHS tape or DVD into the VCR/DVD player.
- Push the play button.
The VCR controls are on the right side of the player and the DVD controls are on the left side of the player. - Adjust "Volume" on the receiver as needed
2.5 ELMO Document Camera
- Turn on the system as described in the first section.
- Turn on the ELMO document camera on top of the table by flipping the switch labeled "POWER".
- Unfold the two lights.
- Release the lock button at the back left of the ELMO and raise the camera head to its full height.
- Push the "ELMO" button on the rack.
- Place the object or text that you want to project on the glass of the camera.
- Enlarge or reduce the size of a projected object by using the "TELE" and "WIDE" buttons on the ELMO.
- If an object is out of focus, press the "AUTO FOCUS" button.
3. Turning Off the System
- Turn off any piece of equipment that you were using
- Press and hold in the "DISPLAY POWER" button on the rack for 2-3 seconds (until the button blinks)
- The button will continue to blink as the projector cools down (approx. 2 minutes) and then go dim; it is VERY IMPORTANT that the projector be allowed to cool down
- Flip the main "POWER" switch in the upper right corner of the rack
