Common Sense Reminders
- Do NOT adjust any item labeled "DO NOT TOUCH"
- When possible, insure the technology works before class time.

1. Using the Classroom Technology Desk
- Make sure red power button on top right of stand is on.
- Turn on Projector hanging from ceiling by pushing green power button on remote. If you can't find the remote, then push the power button on the projector itself.
- Make sure the Sony receiver is on. Push the button labeled for the component you wish to use.
- Turn on power to that component (Macintosh Computer, ELMO Document Camera, Panasonic VCR, Technics Turntable).
- Aim remote at projector and push the INPUT button until correct component is displayed on the screen (Input 1 - Mac, Input 2 - Doc Cam, Input 3 - Laptop)
- Volume control for all components is the big dial on the Sony Receiver
- You can use the CD-ROM drive on the computer to play audio CDs & DVDs.
- When finished, turn off the projector by pushing the green button on the remote twice
- Turn off the power to the individual components (leave the main power switch in the upper right corner on)
1.1 Document Camera
- Turn on power to rack: red ON/OFF switch in the upper right corner of the rack
- Turn on the Document Camera on the table (power switch in the right top corner)
- Turn on the projector using the projector remote.
- Press the Doc Cam button on the switcher(Input 2).
- Use the TELE and WIDE buttons on the document camera to zoom in or out on an object or text (for text to be legible, you will most likely need to zoom in; for best results, zoom in on an object until the surrounding white background is out of view)
- If an object or text is out of focus, push the AUTO FOCUS button
1.2 VCR
- Turn on power to rack: red ON/OFF switch in the upper right hand corner of the rack
- Turn on the projector using the On button on the remote
- Press the VCR button on the Sony Receiver.
- Turn on the VCR, insert the tape, and press play
- Push input 3 on the projector remote.
- Use the volume knob on the Sony Receiver to adjust the volume.
1.3 Turntable
- Turn on record player using button in lower right hand corner.
- Press Turntable on Sony Reciever.
- Place Needle on Record at desired track.
- Adjust volume using volume control on sony Receiver.
2. To Record Class Using the Camera
- Press Power button on the TV Monitor, VCR and the desktop camera controls.
- Insert a blank tape into the VCR.
- Set the camera to the desired position using the camera controls on the desktop.
- Press the record button(s) on either the VCR or its remote.
- Press the Stop button on the VCR or remote once taping is complete.
- You can review the tape on the back monitor by pushing Play.
3. Troubleshooting Tips
No Network Connection- Make sure Ethernet cord is plugged into the wall jack with the green dot next to it.
- If you can hear fan running, it is most likely in cool down mode—wait a minute or two for it to complete the cool-down cycle.
- Push the power button on the projector itself. If that works, then the remote´s batteries aren´t working. Call the Helpdesk at x3830 to replace them.
Students have trouble seeing the Document Camera from the back of the room.
- Zoom in on the text/image using the "Tele" button. Text/Image must be quite large to be seen clearly from the back of the classroom.
- Push the "Autofocus" button to make sure that the camera is focused
