Download Malwarebytes free online at www.malwarebytes.org. Once the program is opened, it may ask for an administrator username and password. Close all other applications while running the set up wizard.

Once Malwarebytes is installed, check for virus definition updates.

In the Updates tab, click the box titled Check for Updates.

Run a scan to prevent or eliminate virus threats.

To run a scan, select the Scanner tab. For routine safety scans, select Perform quick scan. For severe infections, select Perform full scan. Then click Scan.

If your scan found threats, click the Quarantine tab. Make sure all threats are checked and click Delete All.

IT recommends scanning computers weekly to prevent infection.
