Integrating St. Olaf College Directory Searching into Netscape 7.x

  1. Open Netscape Communicator (either the Navigator or the Messenger).
  2. Under the Window pull down menu, select Address Book.
  3. From the File menu of the Address Book, select New, then LDAP Directory.
  4. Set Name: to St. Olaf Directory
  5. Set Host Name: to ldap.stolaf.edu
  6. Set Base DN: to o=stolaf.edu
  7. Click OK to accept the changes once they have been made
  8. Close the Address Book.
  9. Open the preferences by selecting Preferences. from the Edit menu.
  10. From the Heirarchy on the left side of the window, select Addressing from under the Mail & Newsgroups heading.
  11. Enable seaching the St. Olaf Directory by clicking the box next to Directory Server to place a checkmark there.
  12. From the drop down menu directly below that make sure that St. Olaf Directory is selected.
  13. Click OK to accept these changes.
